#MyLGA Day: EIE Team Visits Umuahia North



In a powerful display of civic engagement, hundreds of citizens gathered in Umuahia North, Abia State, on Saturday for a town hall meeting aimed at promoting accountability and social change.

Mr. Useng Asang, representative of Enough is Enough, delivered a keynote address themed "My LGA," emphasizing the importance of citizens knowing their rights and demanding accountability from their leaders. He stressed that citizens should no longer tolerate injustice and should speak out against corruption.

Also speaking, Miss Vivian Chigbu, founder of Dr. Margaret Teens Foundation, addressed the gathering, passionately urging citizens to break their silence and speak out against injustice. She emphasized that collective action is necessary to drive positive change and promote social justice.

Earlier in the speeches, Mr.Chimezie Kalu, Desk Officer and staff of Umuahia North Local Government, and Chinedu Uchegbu, Coordinator noted that EIE is an organization that places citizens at the heart of governance.

In a goodwill message on behalf of the participants, Chief Nduka Uche commended the organizers for their efforts in promoting civic engagement and social change, assuring them that citizens will not only demand accountability from their leaders but also work together to build a better future for themselves and their children.


The town hall meeting featured interactive sessions, and a sense of unity among participants.

This event is part of EIE's larger initiative to empower citizens and promote good governance in Nigeria. The next town hall meeting is scheduled to take place in Omoba, Isiala Ngwa South.
