The third and final town hall meeting, themed "My LGA," for Abia State took place on Monday, at Umuagu-Omoba, Isiala Ngwa South, as part of the collaborative effort between Enough is Enough (EIE) and Dr. Margaret Teens Foundation.
Mr. Useng Asang, representative of EIE, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the importance of citizens knowing their rights and demanding accountability from their leaders. He stressed that citizens should no longer tolerate injustice and should speak out against corruption.
Also in her speech, Miss Vivian Chigbu, founder of Dr. Margaret Teens Foundation, addressed the gathering, passionately urging citizens to break their silence and speak out against injustice. She emphasized more collective action as it is necessary to drive positive change and promote social justice.
Earlier, Mr. Obinna Nwoko, Desk Officer of EIE in Isiala Ngwa South, welcomed participants and expressed his support for the initiative.
In a goodwill message on behalf of the participants, Mr. Chibuihe Ugoala, expressed gratitude to the organizers for empowering citizens to take ownership of their communities. He pledged that the participants would translate the knowledge gained into tangible actions, fostering a culture of accountability and transparency in Isiala Ngwa South.
This event marks the culmination of the "My LGA" town hall meetings in Abia State, following successful events in Isiala Ngwa North and Umuahia North Local Government Areas.
