PDP Dismisses Rumors About Asue Ighodalo's Candidature

Ighodalo

The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed rumors circulating about the nullification of Dr. Asue Ighodalo's candidature as the party's flag bearer for the 2024 elections.

In a statement signed by the party's chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, the PDP assured its supporters that Dr. Ighodalo's candidature remains intact and unaffected by the recent Federal High Court judgment in Abuja.

The party described the rumors as a desperate attempt by certain elements to tarnish Dr. Ighodalo's soaring popularity. Dr. Aziegbemi urged the party's loyal supporters to remain calm and resolute, stating that there is no cause for alarm.

This clarification comes after a Federal High Court in Abuja nullified the PDP's governorship primary election in Edo State, citing non-compliance with the Electoral Act and the party's constitution. However, the PDP has maintained that the judgment did not affect Dr. Ighodalo's candidature.

With this statement, the PDP aims to reassure its supporters and dispel any confusion or misinformation circulating about Dr. Ighodalo's status as the party's flag bearer for the upcoming elections.
