The Ngwa Rangers, a group representing the interests of the Ngwa people, have issued a wake-up call to their elected representatives in the National Assembly, demanding immediate action on the creation of Aba State.
Speaking through their Publicity Secretary, Comrade Kingsley Ihesiaba, the group expressed frustration over the lack of progress on the issue, despite decades of agitation starting from 1915, with renewed efforts in 1954, 1980, 1983, and 2021.
"Aba State's creation is long overdue," Comrade Ihesiaba said. "We demand that our representatives take immediate action to address this issue. We expect them to sponsor a bill for the creation of Aba State, engage with their colleagues to garner support, organize public hearings, and raise awareness about the need for Aba State."

The group praised their senator for leading a delegation to the Attorney General of the Federation to demand the release of their brother, MNK, who has been unjustly detained by the DSS despite a court order granting him bail. However, they urged their representatives to also prioritize the creation of Aba State.
"We elected you to represent our interests, fight for our rights, and ensure that our voices are heard in the corridors of power," Comrade Ihesiaba said. "We did not elect you to enjoy the perks of being Abuja-based politicians, attend lavish parties, or enrich yourselves at our expense. We expect you to work for us, serve our people, and bring development to our region.".jpeg)

The group expects a response from their representatives within two weeks, indicating their plan of action on this matter. If they do not see any concrete action, they will be forced to mobilize their people to demand their rights.
"We will no longer be silenced or ignored," Comrade Ihesiaba emphasized. "We will continue to demand our rights and hold our representatives accountable until Aba State is created."
