2027: Focus On Winning Votes In The FCT Rather Than Fighting A "Nuisance" Like Kingibe, Former Presidential Aide Tells Wike

Nyesom Wike, FCT MINISTER

Political analyst and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has criticized Governor Nyesom Wike for "opening too many battlefronts" and "making enemies everywhere he goes". Omokri specifically targeted Wike's recent threat to stop the reelection of Senator Ireti Kingibe, calling it "undemocratic" and "a distraction from more important goals".

As the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wike's feud with Kingibe, a senator representing the FCT, has raised eyebrows. Omokri questioned Wike's priorities, suggesting that he should focus on winning votes in the FCT in 2027 rather than fighting a "nuisance" like Kingibe.

Omokri noted that the FCT traditionally votes for opposition parties, citing President Buhari's losses in 2015 and 2019 and President Tinubu's loss in 2023. He asked why Wike couldn't "transcend" Kingibe by ignoring her, suggesting that the governor's constant conflicts with others may indicate a personal issue rather than a political strategy.

A part of the tweet: "Wike is opening too many battlefronts. He should learn how to pick and choose his battles...Why will you leave the elephant you are carrying on your head to use your toe to kill an ant? What if you slip and fall?"
