Governor Alex Otti has pledged to work with security agencies to apprehend those responsible for the deadly ambush on an army post in Obikabia, Obingwa LGA, which claimed the lives of five soldiers.
During a visit to the 144 Infantry Battalion, Governor Otti condoled with the bereaved families, saying: "Let me start by sending words of sympathy to the Nigeria Army, the Brigade Commander, and most importantly, the families of the five fallen heroes. We condemn this dastardly act and will work to bring those responsible to book."

He promised the military and the families: "We will smoke out whoever is remotely connected to this killing. We will work closely with security agencies to ensure that we leave no stone unturned."

The Governor also announced a package to support the families of the fallen soldiers, including automatic scholarships for their children until they complete university.
Brigadier General O. O. Diya assured that the army is working to bring the perpetrators to book.
