Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing, a leading Nigerian automobile manufacturer, has responded to allegations made by the Abia State House of Assembly regarding the production of vehicles for lawmakers.
According to a statement released by Cornel Osigwe, Head of Corporate Communications at Innoson Vehicles, the company has completed the production of the vehicles and is currently conducting rigorous testing at its quality control section. The vehicles are expected to be ready by the end of the month, with delivery to be completed by the beginning of next month.
The company clarified that the vehicles ordered by the Governor for the lawmakers required a new frame design, which was not previously produced at their factory. They stated that they took the project seriously and produced a sample for approval by the Governor, which underwent modifications to meet his specified requirements.
Innoson Vehicles also denied receiving payment for the vehicles, contrary to the House of Assembly's claims. The company stated that they consciously decided not to accept payment until the vehicles are finally produced and delivered.
The company expressed gratitude to the Abia State Government for their support and patronage, assuring them of their commitment to delivering high-quality vehicles. They also appreciated the understanding and patience of their customers in this matter.
This development comes after the Abia State House of Assembly had accused Innoson Vehicles of failing to fulfill their agreement to produce vehicles for the lawmakers, despite allegedly receiving payment. The allegations had sparked controversy in the state, with many calling for accountability from the company.
