PDP Exposes Alex Otti's Deceit: Says KPMG Conducted Process Review, Not Forensic Audit

Abia State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has revealed that the document released by Governor Alex Otti, purportedly indicting the previous administration of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, was not a forensic audit report as claimed, but a mere financial process review conducted by KPMG.

In a press statement, the Abia PDP Vice Chairman and Acting State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Elder Abraham Amah, expressed deep concern and disappointment over Alex Otti's use of language to drag the former PDP administration to the mud, and confuse the good people of Abia State, for purely political motives.

The party stated that Alex Otti, a graduate of economics and former managing director of a first-generation bank, should have known the difference between a forensic audit and a financial process review, but was clouded by hate and deep animus for the PDP and Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

The KPMG document, titled "Provision of Financial Process Review Services," clearly stated that it was not an audit of Abia's financial records, but a review of operational workflows to identify inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvements. The report also included caveats absolving KPMG of any opinions or findings.

The Abia PDP demanded that Alex Otti make public the cost of the financial process review and urged the state government to ensure transparency and accountability in all audit processes. The party also called on Alex Otti to render a public apology to Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for smearing his name and misleading Abians.

The statement concluded that governance should be placed above politics, and the good people of Abia State should disregard Alex Otti's recourse to hate and witch hunt, and demand good governance from him.
