The Rivers Bridge Initiative, a non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting good governance and sustainable development in Rivers State, congratulates Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo on his emergence as the new Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

In a statement signed by Tonye Barcanista, National Publicity Secretary, the organization praised the lawmakers for their wise decision in electing Oko-Jumbo, who represents the Bonny Constituency, as the new Speaker. "We believe that Rt. Hon. Oko-Jumbo's wealth of experience, leadership skills, and commitment to the welfare of the people of Rivers State make him an excellent choice for this position."

The Rivers Bridge Initiative expressed confidence that Oko-Jumbo's leadership will foster a collaborative and inclusive approach to legislation, promote the interests of Rivers State, and support the executive arm of government in delivering its development agenda. Furthermore, the Rivers Bridge Initiative calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to urgently commence the process for bye-elections in the vacant 28 Constituencies of the Assembly. This will ensure that the people of Rivers State are fully represented in the House of Assembly and that the democratic process is consolidated.
